ESMT women's scholarships
Scholarships for advancement of women in business
There is a lack of gender equality in global business. ESMT Berlin offers full and partial scholarships for women looking to advance in leadership. We strongly encourage applications for the Executive Transition Program, Bringing Technology to Market, IT Leadership Program or the General Management Seminar.
ESMT also offers scholarships from the 30% Club for the ETP, BTM, and ITL programs. The 30% Club is a global gender diversity campaign which aims to increase the number of women on boards, and throughout the pipeline. It started in the UK in 2010 with a goal of achieving a minimum of 30% women on FTSE-100 boards. Currently the figure stands at 26.1% up from 12.5%. The 30% Club aims to develop a diverse pool of talent for all businesses through the efforts of its Chair and CEO members who are committed to better gender balance at all levels of their organisations. Business leadership is key to the 30% Club mission, taking the issue beyond a specialist diversity effort and into mainstream talent management.
ESMT and the 30% Club are committed to addressing gender imbalance and to helping more women reach influential positions. The 30% Club/ESMT ETP scholarship has been established to encourage and support outstanding women who demonstrate excellent management and leadership potential with the relevant skill set required in an executive position.
Procedure for the selection process of the ETP and GMS program scholarships:
Please send following documents to email@example.com:
- A completed ESMT application form for executive development programs
- A detailed CV
- A motivation letter about what has been achieved so far, what you are striving for, and why you feel entitled to receive a scholarship for the program
Completed applications for GMS and ETP will be screened and aggregated into an overview, and will then be allocated points independently by five different judges. The applications will then be sorted by number of points allocated and will be submitted to Claudia Nemat - Member of the Deutsche Telekom AG Board of Management, Technology and Innovation. Ms. Nemat will take the final decision regarding the appointing of two full and and two 50% scholarships.
The procedure for the BTM and ITL programs follows the same process, however the final selection will be made by an ESMT jury.
Acceptance letters will be distributed 3-4 weeks after the application deadline.
"As I grew in my job, I realized that stepping up to general management responsibilities requires to learn new things, to lead others in a different way, to initiate and deal with ongoing change, to develop a different mindset - but also to unlearn old behaviors. The ETP helped me greatly in developing the knowledge, skills, behaviors and attitudes to deal with these challenges successfully. It also helped me manage difficult decisions and has helped me create a network of peers and mentors to help challenge the tasks ahead of me.”
Merryn Scholz, Managing Director, K.I.T. Group
"During the ETP I was promoted to become the Director of Service Center at Klarna. The program helped me significantly in the challenges of moving successfully from one job to another. I did not only learn a lot during the content sessions, but also profited immensely from the diverse group of participants – both during the class sessions and the many social activities we enjoyed together.”
Alexandra Strömberg, Director of Service Center, Klarna
